Company Overview : Aspire Dermatology is a reputable provider of comprehensive dermatology services, including skin screenings, cosmetic treatments, and Mohs surgery. We are looking for high-energy, motivated individuals to fulfill the vital role of Healthcare Scribe/Assistant.

Work Hours : This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (or similar hours — flexibility is key).

Compensation : $20.00 - $24.00 per hour, commensurate with education, certifications, and experience.

Your Role as a Healthcare Scribe/Assistant:

• Support daily operations by verifying patient information, recording medical histories, confirming visit purposes using an iPad, and performing data entry into EMR during patient visits.
• Prepare patients for exams and procedures, ensuring that equipment and instruments are properly sterilized while educating patients on pre- and post-operative care.
• Sanitize clinical areas, equipment, and instruments as required.
• Manage and maintain clinical inventory and necessary supplies.
• Handle phone triage and routine calls from patients, pharmacies, and referring providers.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Process insurance verifications, prior authorizations, referrals, and manage payments including deductibles and co-pays.
• Document lab results and communicate with patients about medications and lab updates using EMR software.
• Utilize various computer programs effectively, including Microsoft Office and internet browsers.
• Flexibility to work across multiple Aspire offices is essential, with a minimum rotation through four locations.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• Completion of a Medical Assisting Program and possession of a Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA) or at least 1 year of related experience.
• Understanding of medical terminology and anatomy is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with CPT/ICD-10 coding.
• Influenza vaccination is mandatory.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Typing proficiency of at least 40 WPM with a focus on spelling and grammar.
• Reliable transportation is required due to office location rotation.
• Attention to detail and adaptability in various medical practice areas.
• Ability to follow policies, procedures, and protocols effectively.
• Professional interaction skills with patients, providers, supervisors, and coworkers.
• Capability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.

Physical Demands of the Position:

This role requires the ability to sit, stand for extended periods, use hands, reach, walk, climb stairs, balance, and lift/move objects up to 50 pounds. Visual abilities include close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception.
