Job Description: Senior Frontend developer Duration: 6 months contract (potential extension) Rate: $45 - $52 w2 hourly Location: Chicago, IL (remote) We are looking for Senior Frontend developer with traditional frontend experience plus React JS , who can independently work with minimal support from the team. PURPOSE: A good front end developer should always be interested in learning about new technologies and understand that "frameworks" come and go, but having a good foundation in basics like JavaScript and CSS and the underlying concepts that drive each will allow you to thrive in a new technology where others might struggle. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Implement guest facing user experiences using a mix of front end technologies based in JavaScript and CSS. Work with UX team to implement responsive designs that follow a "mobile-first" methodology. Adhere to coding standards to write code that is understandable by everyone on the team. Write unit tests that emphasize "quality" over "line coverage". Communicate with other developers both on your team and other teams throughout the organization. Visual "eye" for breaking down a "comp" into its individual UI components in order to articulate the implementation details when requested. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (CS) related field or equivalent work/academic experience. Good foundation with both JavaScript and CSS. Minimum 1 year experience developing responsive websites. PREFERRED SKILLS: Know just enough of 1 or more JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular Experience working with CSS preprocessors such as LESS or SASS.
