Job Overview:

A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Forensic Engineer with a minimum of six years of experience to support complex investigations into structural, mechanical, or civil engineering failures. This role is ideal for a technically proficient professional with a strong background in forensic analysis and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct forensic investigations into engineering failures involving structures, systems, or materials.
  • Perform on-site inspections, evidence collection, and technical documentation.
  • Analyze data and failure patterns to determine root causes and contributing factors.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and expert witness documentation.
  • Liaise with legal teams, insurers, and clients to communicate findings clearly and professionally.
  • Provide expert testimony in legal or arbitration settings when required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and industry practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years in forensic investigations.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) accreditation.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in engineering analysis tools and software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in litigation support or expert witness roles.
  • Familiarity with insurance claims and risk assessment processes.
  • Knowledge of local and international building codes and safety regulations.
