Summary When a guest enters my area or department, my first and most important responsibility becomes to acknowledge, greet, and engage that guest. Differentiate in products and service by producing quality products. Follow daily work schedule as assigned by management. Ensure quality and consistent product availability and solutions to our guests. Responsible for maintaining positive atmosphere, spirit and morale within the department. Support and execute against division concepts and programs. Utilize floral systems and processes consistently and correctly. Practice safe work habits; maintain a high level of store cleanliness, organization, and a safe work environment. Responsible for safeguarding, controlling and monitoring all floral department assets, ensuring policy and procedures are implemented for control of assets. Accurately write and follow detailed instructions on special orders to ensure product meets or exceeds the guest’s expectations. Ensure special orders are ready 30 minutes prior to pick‑up or delivery time. Ensure wedding flowers are ready two hours prior to pickup or delivery time. Assist in watering and department maintenance as needed. Perform other duties assigned by management. Key Requirements Minimum of six months experience in retail floral designing and volume production. Working knowledge of plants and flowers. Ability to work at fast‑paced, but efficient and controlled manner. Ability to perform all physical aspects of position, including but not limited to standing, bending, lifting, climbing, squatting and walking. Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 lbs. and push and pull up to 100 lbs. Ability to work within a cooler for up to 15 minutes. Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude. Attend meetings and training sessions when called upon. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays. Ability to function as a team member and get along with others.
