At Wegmans, our Floral department offers the convenience of beautifully designed bouquets, plants and fresh arrangements available 7 days a week. In the role of Floral Coordinator, you’ll work with a team to ensure the highest quality and freshest arrangements and plant items are stocked, displayed creatively, and available for customers. Assist in coordinating the activities of team members, ensure tasks are prioritized and completed efficiently, and department runs smoothly Possess an understanding of the products offered in the department Maintain the overall appearance of the department, stocking produce to ensure fresh product levels are sustained, items are well‑merchandised in innovative, eye‑appealing retail displays and stocked in correct locations, while recognizing seasonal, holiday and weather effects on product sales Understand how products look/taste at peak of perfection, ensure use core recipes and techniques to provide a consistent and quality outcome Assist in ordering and inventory processes, utilizing ordering guides to help control inventory and shrink Proactively approach customers, assist them in locating products throughout the department, provide suggestions for meal solutions, and answer any questions they may have about products Required Qualifications Customer service experience preferably in a food service, restaurant, grocery or retail setting Preferred Qualifications Experience ordering products and controlling inventory Managerial/supervisory experience Enthusiasm for and knowledge of relevant products and services Managerial/supervisory experience living our values and achieving results in our 5 measures; Customer service experience preferably in a food service, restaurant, grocery or retail setting Experience ordering products and controlling inventory Work Environment The physical demands of this work are classified as medium with some heavy effort tasks. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, frequent lifting, bending, and reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and co-workers. The average weight range of items lifted is 5–25 pounds with max weight lifted of 50 pounds occasionally. Upper extremity repetition is moderate and trunk movement involves moderate twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens. The work environment is indoors and involves exposure to cold (33–55 degrees) temperatures, wet conditions, seasonal outdoor temperatures and weather.
