Job Summary: Gulf Coast Industrial is currently seeking a Fireproofing Applicator . This position is responsible for installing fireproofing materials to industrial steel to the required specifications designated by the material manufacturer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in receiving and unloading trucks.
• Ability to properly prepare surfaces for application, including cleaning, sanding, and painting as needed.
• Understand different types of fireproofing materials.
• Ability to read and understand spray charts and material thickness.
• Proficiency in applying fireproofing materials using various methods such as trowel/spray.
• Must be able to use a mechanical sprayer to apply SRFM and able to diagnose any small issues as well as breakdown and clean equipment daily
• Track daily production rates.
• Communicate with immediate supervisor on scheduling and material orders.
• Work off scissor lifts, boom lifts, and scaffolding.
• Adhere to all company safety/OSHA rules and regulations.
• The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
• Must be able to mix and apply with specifications and recommendations.
• Other related tasks as required.

Key Requirements, Education, and Experience:

• Ability to operate forklift, scissor lift, or boom lift preferred.
• Utilize necessary Personal Protective Equipment.
• Ability to apply SFRM per manufacturers recommendations.
• Experience with the Pyrocrete Fireproof method.
• Ability to read and write and interpret spray charts.
• Must be able to understand oral and written instructions, sketches, and diagrams.
• Ability to work from scissor lifts, boom lifts and scaffolds.
• Must be able to work in extreme temperatures.
• Must be able to stand, bend, and kneel often in confined spaces.
• Work in an indoor and outdoor environment including field, yard, and shop locations.
• Must have lace-up steel-toed boots
• Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to identify and correct any issues such as uneven application or missed areas.

Travel:

• Work will be at one location.
