Northglenn Heights Senior Living Community is currently hiring Fire Watch personnel to be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of residents and staff in an assisted living and memory care community by monitoring for fire hazards, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations, and serving as the primary observer during fire prevention periods. The Fire Watch will work closely with management to maintain a safe and secure environment.

Essential Functions:
  • Monitor all areas of the community for potential fire hazards and ensure that fire suppression systems, fire alarms, sprinklers, and exits are functioning properly.
  • Continuously inspect smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and fire doors to ensure they are in working order.
  • Observe residents, staff, and visitors to ensure that they follow fire safety protocols and evacuate quickly if needed.
  • Maintain a vigilant watch over the community and immediately report any issues or risks to the designated supervisor or emergency personnel.
  • Participate in regular fire drills and evacuations to ensure staff, residents, and visitors are prepared in case of an emergency.
  • Be available to perform immediate action if a fire emergency occurs, including assisting with resident evacuation and implementing the fire safety plan.
  • Record daily fire watch activities, issues identified, and any incidents or near-misses.
  • Complete detailed reports on fire safety checks, any violations found, and corrective actions taken.
  • Work in conjunction with facilities and maintenance teams to ensure fire safety equipment is regularly serviced and compliant with fire codes.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, visitors, and residents, ensuring they are aware of fire procedures and safety measures.


Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); experience preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
