Upsilon Gallery specializes in American Post-War and Contemporary original and edition artwork, with an emphasis on Minimalism, Pop Art, and Abstract Expressionism. The gallery has mounted numerous exhibitions and placed work in important museums and private collections worldwide. Additionally, Upsilon collaborates with renowned fine art printers to produce and publish original contemporary prints and editions. Our international network allows us to source exclusive artworks and provide comprehensive collection management services, ranging from market intelligence to representation in transactions and auctions.

Role Description

Upsilon Gallery is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Gallery Intern to join our team in New York, two days a week, including Saturdays during opening hours. The ideal candidate is enrolled in a fine arts-focused university program and is intent on working in the gallery industry. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a contemporary art gallery with multiple locations specializing in international postwar and contemporary art. 

Responsibilities:  

• Assist with daily gallery operations, such as general administrative and research-based support, with flexibility. 
• Support during exhibitions, special events, fairs, and openings. 
• Adding works to marketplace platforms, including Art Logic, Artsy, Artnet, and ArtForum, with pre-provided information.
• Assist with social media, marketing materials, answering phone calls, and greeting clients.

Qualifications:  

• Passion for art and interest in gallery operations. 
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Art Business, or a related field. 
• Strong organizational and communication skills. 
• Experience working with digital visual media for presentations, including social media and marketing materials.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Dropbox, and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Internship Details:  

• Location: 23 E 67th St, NY, NY, 10065 
• Duration: 4 months for two days a week, including one weekday and Saturdays in the office (approximately 15 hours per week). 
• Ideal starting date September 13th, 2025
