Work Arrangement Onsite - This position requires the employee to be onsite five days a week. Primary work location will be the General Motors Global Technical Center in Warren, MI. This position has the potential to require domestic travel of up to 50-75%
The Role The Flawless Launch Execution Lead Manufacturing Engineer will lead a team of engineers focused on the successful execution of manufacturing engineering projects. This role encompasses oversight of all aspects of project implementation-from initial processing, design, and development to the final production launch at the assembly site.
The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including strategic suppliers, operations, quality, and supply chain, to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This individual will play a key role in setting the direction for the future of our manufacturing processes.
This position requires a high level of independent decision-making and communication, serving as the lead General Assembly Manufacturing Engineer onsite during project installation and startup.
What You Will Do \n - Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback throughout the processing, development, build, implementation, and startup at plant facilities.
\n - Develop and implement project plans, investment required, timelines, and budgets.
\n - Monitor project progress, identify and resolve roadblocks, and mitigate risks.
\n - Ensure adherence to engineering standards, best practices, bill of process, bill of equipment, safety, and regulatory requirements. Develop statement of requirements for Tooling and Equipment.
\n - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution and successful product launches. Providing technical direction to and oversight of strategic suppliers
\n - Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Manufacturing Engineering, Strategic Suppliers, and Product Engineering.
\n - Maintain and meet project budgets/forecasts and drive cost reduction initiatives.
\n - Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in manufacturing engineering.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)\n - 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, demonstrating expertise in engineering practices and processes.
\n - A proven track record of successfully delivering projects within a manufacturing environment, including equipment installation and construction, highlighting your capability to manage complex initiatives.
\n - Strong proficiency in project management methodologies, such as Agile and Six Sigma, ensuring efficient project execution and continuous improvement.
\n - Experience with processing equipment, throughput, and comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, enabling effective design and production.
\n - In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, fostering operational efficiency and waste reduction.
\n - A strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
\n - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)\n - Experience in a supervisory or management capacity, showcasing the ability to lead teams effectively and drive results.
\n - Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, demonstrating the ability to thrive in fast-paced settings. Experience with reliability and maintainability of processing equipment, standalone availability, and throughput.
\n - Experience in Launching new product. Thorough knowledge of Manufacturing Processes and Equipment and Global Launch Process and Global Vehicle Development Process.
\n - Familiarity with robotics and automation technologies, contributing to innovative manufacturing solutions.
\n - Experience with data analysis and statistical process control (SPC), enabling informed decision-making and process optimization.
\n - Master's degree in engineering
