Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Environmental Scientist to be based in Germantown, Maryland. This is an entry-level position in AECOM’s Environment Business Line within the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technical Practice Area; position will report to the EHS Department in AECOM’s Germantown, Maryland. The Environmental Scientist will work under supervision of a project manager or senior level team member on a variety of EHS projects, including but not limited to: environmental compliance plans, environmental permitting, environmental site assessments, and subsurface investigations.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Entry-level position in AECOM’s Environment Business Line within the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technical Practice Area; position will report to EHS Department in AECOM’s Germantown, Maryland.

Work under supervision of a project manager or senior level team member on a variety of EHS projects, including but not limited to environmental compliance plans and permitting, environmental site assessments, and subsurface investigations.

Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.

Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories.

Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

Entry-level position; may not require previous experience
