We are looking for a dynamic individual who is excited for the opportunity to build new entrepreneur education programs funded by multiple federal grants to accelerate the clean technology sector. This role will aid the development of a new Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) cluster membership portfolio, coordinate cluster member participation, prepare materials for engagement with new corporate sponsors, and communicate to internal and external parties the value of Alliance programs and services. This position reports to the Vice President (VP) of Economic Development at the CleanTech Alliance, an affiliate of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. The ideal candidate has a proven ability to work collaboratively with others, has a proactive/problem solving mentality, and enjoys a dynamic work environment. Requiring acute attention to detail and professionalism, this position is responsible for working closely with Alliance staff to ensure alignment between the Alliance’s membership and its programs and services, as well as with the Alliance’s strategic plan. This position requires organizational and planning skills and the ability to speak to the Alliance’s value proposition both internally and externally. A successful candidate delivers excellent customer service, exhibits the highest degree of ethical conduct, and has a deep and nearly unquenchable passion for clean technology. For this position, the candidate must be willing to travel within the Northwest. Critical Job Functions In this role, you will lead small business and entrepreneur education programs, networking events, cohort and committee leadership, and coordination with other programs across the Alliance. Duties include, but are not limited to: Entrepreneur and Small business education programs - 35% Be a liaison for the CleanTech Alliance with industry in your assigned program sectors Develop a strong culture for staff and participants within assigned projects and programs of high performance, collaboration, mutual support. Day to day project management, including developing program content, understanding critical needs of cohort business, setting objectives for how we can support those objectives, and recruiting participants. Manage relationships and opportunities with our new and existing corporate partners to build program support, develop a strong bench of proactive mentors, and create content from subject matter experts to enhance entrepreneur education and clean technology adoption. Guide and facilitate discussions and research policy recommendations that can advance the sector and support small businesses, rural companies, and increase access for underrepresented individuals to the clean technology sector. Cohort, Committee, and Workgroup leadership – for assigned project portfolio - 25% Proactively promote the brand and image of the projects you lead. Manage website pages, social media presence, and newsletter content. Develop and conduct entrepreneur and membership outreach and engagement and communicate the Alliance and program’s value proposition to members and prospects. Coordinate attendance of VP and CEO at outreach meetings as needed. Execute outreach follow up plans, ensure systems are maintained to take notes, track follow-up tasks, send deliverables, and develop additional materials as needed. Event and Project Planning – for assigned event portfolio - 20% Plan and lead educational programs, webinars, networking, and other events as assigned. Coordinate with events team to contract for facilities and manage vendor contracts and invoicing. Recruit and select speakers and subject matter experts. Develop event marketing plans. Ensure database registration is timely, accurate and complete. Lead staff, contractors, board, and volunteers to manage event operations. Leadership – 10% Assist the membership and events staff with relationship building and sponsorship asks. Supervise and develop assigned staff members; ensure their goals and work plans are aligned to funding requirements, program goals, and the Alliance’s strategic plan. Conduct research and writing projects as directed. Represent your programs and the sector at conferences and events as assigned. Perform other duties needed to ensure a smoothly functioning organization. Grant Management and Admin 10% Research and present potential grant funding opportunities to senior leadership. Prepare reports and infographics to support grant logic models as assigned. Manage grant reporting for project portfolio and track project outcomes for future program development. Support all aspects of grant writing as assigned. Skills And Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, environmental science, engineering, or a related field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience, demonstrating the following skills. Highly self-directed with the ability to accomplish with limited guidance. Deep understanding and engagement with the venture and start-up ecosystem, and previous experience with accelerators, small business support, or other entrepreneur education programs. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, demonstrated research abilities, and a passion for science communication. Ability to produce both complex and detailed program materials and executive summaries. Experience with public speaking and coaching others on presentation skills. Flexibility and the ability to work under pressure and to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects. Strong organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail. Desire to work as part of a small team who all cover a broad array of responsibilities in support of the mission. Strong collaboration skills and willingness to be a team player. Ability to interact effectively with members, volunteers and staff, with a strong customer service focus. Proficiency in project management and project management software, Smartsheet preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relational databases. Employment Details The CleanTech Alliance is affiliated with the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce; staff members of the CleanTech Alliance officially are employees of the Chamber and participate in Chamber benefit plans. The Chamber is committed to internal and market equity. The full pay range for this position is from $72,262 to $81,293 annually. For new hires, the target pay range for this position is from $72,262 to $78,250 annually, based on job-related experience and skills.
