Job Details We are looking for an individual that can drive the future of this practice for the next 15 - 25 years. The successful candidate would be assigned to one of the following New York offices:
Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, White Plains, NYC, or Melville (Long Island), NY.
The ideal candidate will have the time to take on some existing work (so a full book of business is not required by any means - this group is very busy!). Additionally, we need someone who will be great at mentoring the associates in the group. Someone who will be an excellent role model for the future generations!
Additional qualifications:
Licensed to practice in NYS; Authorized to work in the US (the firm does not sponsor employment visas for this position at this time).
Qualified candidates should have experience handling matters related to federal and State regulations, SEQRA, permitting, environmental remediation and enforcement.
Experience counseling clients in energy matters, particularly regarding siting before the New York State Public Service Commission (e.g., Article VII) and the Office of Renewable Energy Siting (e.g., 94-C), is preferred.
Experience with renewable energy projects, including negotiation of power purchase agreements and credit agreements, is desirable.
Land use and zoning experience is a plus.
The successful candidate will be a team-oriented, highly motivated individual with a strong academic record who likes working in a team environment, taking initiative and has excellent research, written and verbal communication skills.
The good faith salary range for this position at the Sr Counsel or Member level is estimated to be $150 - $350k. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s years of experience, qualifications, skill set, and office location.
