Employment Education Consultant ~ Part-Time with Benefits

Do you want to assist someone with a disability to obtain and maintain employment? You will make a difference in their success!

We are looking for a self-starter who is dedicated to lifelong learning and is passionate about teaching individuals with disabilities how they can succeed in the workforce.

Location: 414 Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse NY

Part-time, 10-20 hours per week

$18-$20 per hour, shift differential available

Responsibilities include:

• Assessing and documenting participants’ skills, needs, and interests to determine appropriate employment opportunities and needed supports
• Researching, developing, and creating, internships and employment opportunitie
• Developing and maintaining relationships with local businesses, human resources groups, and employment networks
• Providing job coaching

Education, Skills and Experience

• High school diploma required. Bachelor degree in Education or Psychology, preferred
• Customer service, sales, or training experience preferred
• Basic technology and email skills required
• Experience working with individuals with different learning styles and abilities preferred
• Must want to work one-on-one with individuals and be excited to make a difference in the lives of others
• Two years of experience working in employment, job coaching, and/or resume building

Conditions of Employment

Must possess a valid driver’s license and transportation necessary to meet program needs. You will need to drive to job sites. Hours vary week to week. Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed. Can plan own schedule around supporting the employment needs of participants. $1 additional per hour for job coaching after 6:00pm on week days, or for weekends.
