Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Level 1:

Coaching
  • Identify opportunities for career growth with the employer and supported employee.
  • Onsite visits to check with supported employee and employer at regular intervals.
  • Identify solutions to personnel issues and implement them; this may include behavior supports, developing communication systems, and adaptive technology.
  • Provide on-the-job training and coaching to supported employees to ensure success at their job.
  • Provide training support to individuals when job tasks change as needed.
  • Perform vocational assessments in the community and determine the marketable skills of job seekers.
  • Provide training and consultations to managers and co-workers to enable them to support the supported employee.
  • Develop ongoing positive relationships with key co-workers in every workplace.
  • Works with DDCS community to be an advocate for best practice and educate Orion staff.
Case Management
  • Develop annual service plan goals for clients on caseload with support of Employment/Community Inclusion Lead - as needed.
  • Implement solutions to transportation issues as needed.
  • Coordinate supports with funders, residential staff, and families during all stages of services.
  • Maintain daily case records and other documentation to demonstrate outcomes and progress on behalf of clients.
  • Manage caseload and required monthly service hours and develop weekly schedule to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain billing of 80% of allocated hours.
  • Assures all behavior plans are based upon principles of positive behavioral supports and personal responsibility and include a functional assessment of the problem behaviors.
Communication
  • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Communicate any issues to Employment Consultant Lead or the Community Based Employment Program Manager.
  • Coordinate with family or residential staff as needed.
  • Coordinate and communicate with staff if operating as a Primary or Secondary staff to achieve seamless services.
Other
  • Participate in scheduled staff meetings and provide input to other Service staff to share responsibilities that contribute to the success of the team.
  • Support other members of the team to ensure client coverage (i.e., vacation, sick, new job starts).
  • Conduct majority of the work in the community.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as identified and assigned by Employment/ Community Inclusion Lead or Director of Services - Mukilteo.
  • Utilize best practices issued by DDA/DVR and other funders as related to discovery, job preparation, job development and coaching/retention services.
  • Honor the client confidentiality policy.
  • Is knowledgeable about funding and legislation / service trends.
  • Provides input to programs and processes which enhance services.
  • Serves as mentor and role model to new staff.
  • Plays a role in achieving projects outlined in strategic plan or by division.
  • Develop community jobs utilizing job development best practice strategies.
  • Market services to businesses, generate leads of potential employers, conduct environmental and job analysis, and write business proposals to generate job placements.
  • Participate in networking events and groups in the business community.
Level 2 - Accomplishes all duties and responsibilities of Level 1 plus:
  1. Coaching / Development
  • Develop community jobs utilizing job development best practice strategies.
  • Market services to businesses, generate leads of potential employers, conduct environmental and job analysis, and write business proposals to generate job placements.
  • Participate in networking events and groups in the business community.

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Ability to pass background check including the Washington State Department of Social and Health services background through Background Check Central Unit (BCCU)
  • Must have valid driver's license and personally insured vehicle
  • Ability to pass Orion's driving abstract requirement to allow for transportation of clients
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Possess or acquire a first aid/CPR certification when course is offered by Orion
  • Adhere to Orion's cell phone reimbursement policy, which requires a smart phone
  • Education:
  • Level 1 - Associate degree or high school diploma with one year experience working with people with I / DD, preferably in a vocational setting
  • Level 2 or 3 - Bachelor's degree in related field or certification in employment services such as CESP or experience in lieu of education
  • Lead - Bachelor's degree in related field or minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership role in the DDA community
  • Outgoing and confident in approaching businesses on behalf of people with disabilities
  • Willing to maintain flexible work schedule
  • Knowledge of intellectual disabilities and their impact on functioning and employment
  • Excellent customer service skills - ability to relate and communicate well with all stakeholders
  • Excellent ability to communicate in English - both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to analyze, coordinate and synthesize information and reach sound conclusions
  • Strong computer literacy - able to use Word, Excel and the internet
  • Present a positive, professional image in demeanor and dress
  • Ability to apply positive support principles and strategies


Salary Description


$21.25 - $28.75 an hour
