Are you passionate about ensuring the safety and success of students in an academic environment? Red Clover Treatment Facility, a division of Sentinel Group, LLC, is seeking a dedicated Education Coordinator to join our team.

Location: Red Clover Treatment Center (RCTC) - Middlesex, VT

Position Summary: The Education Administrator provides leadership to coordinate and supervise the effective delivery of Academic and Special Education services and serves as the chief administrator of the program in developing and implementing policies, programs, tutoring services, and activities in a manner that promotes the educational development and/or maintenance of each student and the professional development of each faculty member.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

· Provide professional leadership in organizing, administering, supervising, and evaluating the effective delivery of Academics, Tutoring, and Special Education services.

· Conceptualize the broad goals of the academic tutoring program and plan accordingly to ensure that procedures and schedules are implemented to carry out the total school program.

· Ensure that the academic program is compatible with the legal, financial and organizational structure.

· Define the responsibilities and accountability of faculty members and develop plans for interpreting the academic program to the community

· Take an active role in decision-making and assist in facilitation of positive outcomes for students with special needs.

· Oversee all facets of academics and special education including programs, services, personnel and budget.

· Ensures that all services, programs, and activities conform to federal, state and district guidelines.

· Provide direct supervision and oversee the essential functions and general responsibilities of the academic and support faculty.

· Provide activities which facilitate the professional growth of the academic and support faculty and enhance the quality of the instructional program while appraising performance

· Ensure that instructional objectives for a given subject and/or classroom are developed and involve the faculty and others in the development of specific objectives to meet the needs of the students and the program.

· Orient and assist new faculty and provide opportunities for their input in the school program.

· Evaluate student progress in the program by means that include the maintaining of up-to-date student data.

· Maintain student confidentiality and report all pertinent information to the Executive Director.

· Appropriately represent Sentinel Group and Red Clover Treatment Center academic program to the community, students' parents and outside agencies.

· Follow all company policies and procedures.

· Other duties as assigned.

Ability to work collaboratively to implement and monitor special education programs; ability to work in a supportive, collaborative role with faculty in all departments; ability to interpret and remain current on all federal, state, and local mandates for special education and Section 504 services and to ensure that the school is in compliance; handle confidential information discretely and professionally; use discretion and exercise sound judgment; exceptional public relations/interpersonal/problem solving skills to respond to parents and advocacy groups and to serve as the school’s lead representative/contact person of programs for all students; effective management, supervisory, team-building, and problem solving skills.

Education and/or Experience:

· Bachelor's degree required: Education, Special Education (preferred)

· Master’s Degree preferred: M.Ed., CAGS/CAS, EdD, or PhD preferred

· Valid Vermont Postgraduate Professional license required with endorsements in administration, supervision, and special education.

· Experience as a teacher and administrator working with students with disabilities (ages 2 to 21years inclusive) to include a minimum of 5 years direct development of IEPs and implementation through service delivery.

· 5 years administrative/supervisory experience involving exceptional learner processes and instructional programming.

· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, school faculty, clinical, residential and administrative departments.

· Possess knowledge of State Core Curriculum requirements and Department of Education adopted guidelines.

· Position requires criminal history background check.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet, humid, extreme hot or cold. The noise level of the work environment is usually low to normal.

Can perform physical demands associated with position, including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, squatting, participating in outdoor programming, and participating in behavioral interventions, such as restraints.
