Sales Engineer & Deployment Engineer for Cyber Security, Remote

We are seeking a detail-oriented and passionate Pre-Sales & Deployment Engineer to join our client’s vibrant team. In this role, you will engage in impactful sales engineering activities, including technical presentations, platform demonstrations, support for customer or partner technical statements of work (SOWs) and proposals, and training. You will also perform critical backend work to optimize data ingestion for our customers.

The ideal candidate will have experience with commercial and free cybersecurity products, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR/EPP, VPNs, and IAM, and network products like switches, routers, and Wi-Fi. Familiarity with cloud platforms (SaaS and IaaS) is essential. Your strong problem-solving, design, and communication abilities will drive exceptional results in this transformative role.

What will you be doing?

• Conduct architecture reviews to document key information about customer networks, including bandwidth, ISPs, and security infrastructure
• Guide clients through smooth installation processes in remote Zoom or Teams sessions
• Troubleshoot and resolve onboarding issues related to network and security
• Collaborate with developers and analysts to ensure smooth data collection and feature functionality
• Support sales teams with technical Q&A, architectural guidance, competitive analyses, RFP/RFI responses, and platform demos
• Participate in trade shows and partner events to elevate our mission

What are the minimum qualifications?

• High School Diploma or equivalent; a college degree and industry certifications are a plus
• Proven experience as a field services engineer (IT, network, cybersecurity) and solutions architect/sales engineer, including demos and technical presentations
• Strong command line experience with Linux; familiarity with CLI environments and text editors like VI and Emacs
• Advanced knowledge of network concepts (IP addresses, ports, routing, OSI model) and network devices (switches, routers, firewalls)
• Ability to configure managed network switches and troubleshoot issues
• Broad understanding of IT technologies and data storage
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
• Minimum of 3 years in network security appliance deployment and 2 years in network switch and firewall management

What will make your résumé stand out?

• Programming experience with Shell scripts, Perl, Python, etc.
• Familiar with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)

Location: Remote, prefer someone in the Dallas/Fort Worth area or Texas

Salary Range: $90k – $120k, with bonus and stock options. Flexible PTO policy with an annual learning and development stipend
