Content Writer

Community Foundation

Miami, FL

Salary: $90,000 per year, based on experience

Terrific Content Writer position with a large foundation committed to strengthening the communities of South Florida and furthering philanthropic initiatives across the country. The Content Writer will be responsible for creating content across various platforms, both traditional and digital. This role will research and identify stories that will effectively shine a light on the organization to magnify their impact. Typical content this position will create includes blog posts, op-eds, speeches, thought leadership articles, social media posts, press releases, and other pieces, as needed. The Content Writer will thrive in an environment where they need to shift writing styles based on the intended audience or speaker. Ideal candidates for this role will be able to write creatively and persuasively. Candidates should have approximately 5+ years of related writing experience. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. This position is based in the Miami area and operates on a hybrid schedule. The salary for this position is $90,000 per year, based on experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Craft content including articles, op-eds. press releases, web copy, speeches, and other pieces of writing that speak to the organization's brand
  • Develop a content strategy that coincides with the organization's calendar of events to support projects and programs
  • Manage a large portfolio of projects, as well as shifting priorities
  • Conduct interviews to create impact articles
  • Author thought leadership articles and speeches for various staff, taking on their voice in the writing
  • Write copy for social media posts across all major platforms
  • Review and proofread writing that is created by other teams within the organization

Qualifications:
  • Approximately 5+ years of relevant writing experience for various audiences
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Experience creating content for print and social media
  • Excellent storyteller with the ability to write compelling pieces
  • Strong independent operator
  • Experience with SEO or content/design/layouts a plus
  • Passion for the community
