Job Description
SUMMARY Reporting to the Compliance Officer (CO), the Compliance/BSA Assistant (CBA) assists the CO
with all compliance-related responsibilities. The CO is expected to maintain expert knowledge
of all compliance laws and regulations affecting the bank. The CBA will act as the back-up for
the CO.
ACCOUNTABILITIES Monitoring and Auditing -Under the direction of the CO, creates procedures and documentation for monitoring all
bank products and activities for compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
- Conducts monitoring reviews under the direction of the CO
- Reports to the CO and compliance committee on the results of monitoring activities
- Assists the CO and business unit managers in preparing for external audits and
examinations and in responding to audit and examination reports
Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) - Assists the CO in the preparation and filing of reports such as Currency Transaction
Reports (CTRs), Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and the OCC's annual Money
Laundering Risk Report
- Assists the CO with account monitoring in the banks AML software
- Assists the CO with other BSA monitoring and reporting activities
Policies and Procedures - Assists the CO with the writing and maintenance of compliance policies
- Under the direction of the CO, creates, organizes, and maintains procedures, guidelines,
and tools to implement compliance policies approved by the Board of Directors
Training - Assists the CO with the preparation of training materials
- Assists the CO with the scheduling and documentation of training sessions
- Conducts staff training sessions with assistance and support from the CO as needed
Compliance Committee - Assists CO in the preparation of compliance committee meetings

judgment and makes timely decisions
Financial Analysis: - Ability to understand numbers and use those skills as they pertain to loans and the loan
underwriting process.
Oral/Written Communication: - The ability to express thoughts and ideas in a clear and concise manner, both orally and
in written form to a variety of audiences and to all levels of staff. Requires strong
interpersonal and communication skills including oral, written, and presentational skills.
COMPLIANCE All positions within Home Bank SB must comply with all state and federal laws and regulations as
per the Bank's compliance policies and procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office
equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The
employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach
with hands and arms.
POSITION TYPE This is a full-time position. This position may regularly require long hours and possible weekend
work.
TRAVEL Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight
travel may be expected.

EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: - Requires knowledge of financial institution operations and procedures and working
knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to financial institutions.
- Requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal business
partners demonstrating a working knowledge of major business functions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field, or comparable education and/or
experience is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a related field
- This job requires skills needed in a typical office environment. This includes computer skills
