Job Description

Summary

The Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy is seeking a Communications Specialist who excels in a dynamic environment and brings a thoughtful, innovative approach to their work. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a knack for creating creative and visually engaging content that enhance our programs and initiatives.

Job Duties

• Assists in the development, planning, and execution of communications and outreach strategies/plans.
• Creates content materials, including but not limited to: newsletters, social media content, website content, presentations, blog posts, news releases, fact sheets, backgrounders, biographies, pitch letters, Q&As, talking points and general correspondence. 
• Plans, implements, and oversees aspects of the Health Policy Program, Health Policy Pathway undergraduate education program, and other related activities.
• Maintains Center calendars, schedule complex meetings, and arrange appointments as instructed.
• Creates workstreams and process improvements for content updates and dissemination plans. 
• Manages the Center’s database of contacts. 
• Conducts research on donors, prospective donors, awards, speaking engagements, and media opportunities.
• Collaborates with BCM communications, marketing, office of institutional advancement, and external vendors, when necessary.
• Develops program evaluation instruments, analyzes data, and creates reports on progress and outcomes.
• Drafts, reviews, and updates operations policies and procedures; recommend improvements.
• May assist with budget development and monitoring.
• Provides support to other administrative staff for new and ongoing projects.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
