Description College & Career Readiness Director Further Your Career Here! Our College & Career Readiness Director will be responsible for providing comprehensive career planning and financial planning services to our members. Your primary focus will be on guiding individuals through various stages of their career journey, from initial skills training to successful job placement and beyond.
Our Mission : To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as caring, productive, responsible citizens.
These are some of the additional things you will do as a College & Career Readiness Director. - Assist members in setting realistic career goals and developing strategic plans to achieve them.
- Offer personalized financial planning advice tailored to each member's career objectives and financial situation.
- Conduct workshops and one-on-one sessions to enhance members' skills in areas such as cover letter writing, resume building, interview preparedness, and public speaking, personal branding, etc.
- All BGCTM employees have the responsibility to help maintain the safety of our members and staff, and ensure an optimal experience for all.
This is the preferred education and experience as a College & Career Readiness Director - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or certification in a specialty area preferred.
- Proven experience in career counseling, vocational guidance, or related fields.
- Minimum of three years of work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of youth and teens or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Proficient in using various computer software programs, including but not limited to ClubHub, membership applications, Payroll Systems Web Based time systems, and familiarity with the internet.
These are some of the certifications preferred as a College & Career Readiness Director - Registered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (
- Complete and become certified in at least (4) courses offered through Leadership University: School of Management. (CORE Review, Budgeting Basics, Partnership Development and Key Elements of impact OR Managing Program Development)
- Must have completed and attended a minimum of 30 hours of internal training/certification programs offered by the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows.
- Certification in career counseling or related areas is preferred.

Qualifications We have great staff that can teach you skills on the job, but there are some traits that will make you more successful as a College and Career Readiness Director - You are a fun, energetic, and excited individual
- You want to pursue a career in education and childcare such as: HDFS, CDA, Education, Counseling etc...
- You have a passion for building a better community
- You have the ability to communicate and cooperate with children, other staff and parents.
- Management experience preferred
- Minimum of 18 years or older
