Cloud Architect Position

Looking for an individual passionate about cloud technologies to join our team at CGI. Implement new cloud technologies and advanced architectural solutions in a cooperative and encouraging environment. We are seeking someone who can work with clients to determine the best strategies for cloud modernization, platform migration, and data handling, and who can effectively implement those strategies. This position is located in Arlington, VA.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Cloud Strategy Development:
• Design and implement cloud strategies that align with business goals.
• Evaluate and recommend cloud providers and services based on company needs.
• Architecture Design:
• Develop and maintain cloud architecture blueprints.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and security in cloud solutions.
• Design multi-cloud and hybrid cloud solutions.
• Migration Planning and Execution:
• Plan and oversee the migration of applications and data to the cloud.
• Ensure minimal disruption during the migration process.
• Security and Compliance:
• Implement robust security measures to protect data and applications.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
• Performance Optimization:
• Monitor cloud performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Optimize resource usage to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with development, operations, and security teams.
• Communicate cloud strategies and solutions to stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and support to technical teams.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and trends.
• Evaluate new tools and services to enhance cloud infrastructure.
• Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Or equivalent experience.

Experience: Extensive experience in cloud architecture and design. Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Experience in migrating applications to the cloud and managing cloud infrastructure. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices. Proficiency in cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and databases. Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Certifications: Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect) are highly desirable.

Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $99,200.00 - $241,600.00.
