Primary Purpose:
A Class C Auxiliary Driver is responsible for safely driving students to and from school using district vehicles not requiring a commercial driver license. When not engaged in driving, this position will be assigned as a Bus Aide on a special needs route.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification:

• Clear and valid Class C driver's license
• Successful completion of behind-the-wheel training
• Acceptable motor vehicle record

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to pass U.S. Non-DOT alcohol and drug testing
• Ability to pass annual U. S. Non-DOT physical examination
• Ability to operate all types of automobiles in the MISD Fleet (not requiring a commercial driver license) in a safe and effective manner
• Ability to use maps and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to follow routes and locate addresses
• Ability to manage students in a safe and appropriate transportation environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with others
• Must maintain student records, behavior, and passenger confidentiality to comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA)

Experience:

• 2 years' experience driving an automobile

NUMBER OF DAYS FOR THE POSITION: 182 Days
