Your Key Responsibilities

• Safely load, secure, transport, and offload CarMax vehicles between locations such as stores, auctions, vendors, and logistics hubs using a company-assigned car hauler.
• Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of vehicles to promote inventory movement and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Operate equipment with a strong emphasis on safety, efficiency, and cleanliness, keeping your truck and trailer well-maintained.
• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in line with DOT and CarMax standards.
• Maintain accurate and compliant DOT logs and necessary documentation.
• Represent CarMax professionally during interactions with vendors, store associates, and the public.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) is a must.
• Minimum of 2 years of Class A CDL driving experience is required; military heavy/medium tactical vehicle experience is considered.
• Current CarMax Associates can apply if they meet the following criteria:
  • Possess a valid Class A CDL
  • Have 2+ years of CMV driving experience at CarMax (non-Class A experience is acceptable)
  • No preventable safety incidents in the last 2 years, as validated by the Safety & Compliance Team
• Clean driving record with no serious violations in the last three years, meeting CarMax's Driver Safety Evaluation standards.
• Must meet DOT and FMCSA qualification requirements.
• Able to lift heavy objects and winch transported vehicles during loading.
• Proficient in operating a 10-speed transmission.
• Willingness to work outside in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills.
