We are seeking strong candidate for Captain position opening for our river ships sailing exclusively with USA clientele.
Description:
The safety of the ship, equipment, passengers, crew and the safe operation of his vessel whilst at the same time responsible for protecting Company's commercial interests.
Responsible for coordinating, supporting, and delivering an exceptional guest service for our travelers in accordance with Grand Circle Cruise Line (GCCL) standards, while contributing to a positive work environment.
Primary (Non-Exhaustive) Responsibilities:
Responsible to the VRP for operational matters, safety, security and pollution prevention. In more detail the Master is responsible for:
The safety of the ship, equipment, passengers, crew and the safe operation of his vessel whilst at the same time responsible for protecting Company's commercial interests.; The Master has the overriding authority and responsibility to make decision with respect to Safety, Security and Pollution Prevention.; Implementing the Safety and Quality Policy and Alcohol & Drug Policy of Company.; Motivating the crew in the observance of that policy.; In case of high or low water, collision, technical problems, the Master must appear together with the PRD before the guests and give them the information.; Issuing appropriate orders in a clear and simple manner.; Verifying that all specified Company rules and regulations are observed.; Ensuring that all international, national and local, laws and regulations (as applicable) are adhered to.; Maintenance of the ship, installation and equipment.; Routine inspection of the ship, including cabins, with Hotel Manager and Engineer.; Keeping account or the ship's cash during laid-up periods (winter) and auditing the expenses.; Keep Schifferdienstbuch for Engineer and Sailors.; Establish the roster for bridge watches at sea/on river according to regulations.; Keeping shipboard documentation and administration updated.; Appraising all crewmembers.; Standing orders issued by the Master may augment and complement the Shipboard Manual, but cannot in any way conflict with it.;
Skills/Qualifications:
Schifferdienstbuch with qualifications / License for Captain for Rhine & Danube rivers; Minimum two years of experience preferably gained on passenger river ships; Proven leadership abilities and excellent communication skills; Strong organizational and computer skillsHands On mentality; Team player; Leadership skills; Good command of English, German as secondary language skill is welcomed;
