Role: Business Donor Development Specialist Branch: Marketing Branch Pack: Fundraising Pack Team:N/A Reports to:Fundraising Pack Leader Location:Local to Spokane, WA Hours Required:5 Hours Per Week Compensation: Volunteer Role Mission: To cultivate and sustain revenue through strategic business partnerships, fostering relationships with companies of all sizes, both local and beyond, with the goal of securing recurring sponsorships (Hope Heroes, unlocking opportunities for events and volunteer engagement, and managing a portfolio of business collaborations with care and precision.
Summary: As a dynamic and passionate advocate for our mission, the Business Donor Development Specialist thrives on outreach and cold calling, eager to engage with businesses of all sizes. With a sales-driven personality, they excel at articulating our cause and crafting innovative ways for businesses to get involved, whether through tax-deductible donations, one-time events, or HR presentations. Their focus is on creating, maintaining, and developing deep, meaningful relationships, ensuring that each business feels valued and integral to our mission. Comfortable with "closing the sale," they work tirelessly to secure recurring Hope Hero sponsorships, open doors for events, and foster long-term partnerships that benefit both the organization and the businesses they engage.
Rescue Mission: At Path of Hope Rescue we strive to decrease the euthanasia rate of high risk dogs in the southern United States by transporting pregnant dogs and puppies to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive homes. We are 100% foster based and rely on volunteers and fosters to help in our mission.
Vision: Eliminating euthanasia of dogs in the South by decreasing the amount of dogs breeding unchecked. Becoming the number one 'dog destination' in Spokane and capitalizing on Spokane's love of Rescue Dogs.

With a natural sales flair, they eagerly engage in cold calls and outreach to businesses of all sizes, crafting creative ways to involve them in our mission, whether through tax-deductible donations, one-time events, or HR presentations. They excel at closing deals, always with the goal of securing recurring Hope Hero sponsorships and unlocking opportunities for events and volunteer engagement. This specialist is committed to deepening business relationships, ensuring that each partner feels valued and connected to our cause. A key part of their role includes maintaining accurate records within Neon and promptly responding to emails Monday through Friday, ensuring seamless communication and follow-up.
In addition to their outreach efforts, the Business Donor Development Specialist is dedicated to fostering long-term partnerships by making meaningful, personal connections. Each week, they schedule face-to-face meetings or drop-ins with at least one new business, introducing them to our mission and exploring potential collaborations. They prioritize regular communication with their existing caseload, reaching out via email once a month and, whenever possible, opting for in-person interactions. They go the extra mile by sending thank-you cards, Christmas cards, and personal notes for special occasions like a new baby, a grand opening, or even a loss in the family. Always on the lookout for ways to increase donor touchpoints, they seize every opportunity to connect relationally with businesses. Additionally, they proactively seek cross-marketing opportunities, collaborating with organizational leaders to maximize exposure and strengthen the impact of our partnerships.
