Overview Biometrics (Fingerprint) Technician - On Call 2 weeks ago Be among the first 25 applicants This is an opportunity to work with the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) in meeting the mission of administering the nation’s lawful immigration system. Hiring hourly Rate of Pay: $17.85 (hourly rate set by SCA). This position is regulated by the Department of Labor (DOL) as a Service Contract Act (SCA) contract. The DOL regulates the minimum hourly rate of pay, holiday and vacation leave benefits, and Health and Welfare (H&W) money. On Call (casual) team member – hours are on an as-needed basis and not guaranteed. Availability typically includes Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 4:15pm for substitute coverage at the site. Responsibilities Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking legal immigration to the United States. Ensure all who enter the ASC are approved applicants and visitors while providing both interior and exterior crowd control and assisting the staff in enforcing the rules and policies of the ASCs. Provide front-line customer service as representatives of Amentum and on behalf of the United States Government. Perform quality biometrics processing to include capturing electronic fingerprints, photographs, and signatures within established program-wide processing times. Screen applicants entering the facility to ensure they have a valid appointment notice and identification allowing their entry into the ASC. Utilize crowd control barriers to ensure a safe and organized entry into the facility. Visually inspect applicants and their belongings prior to allowing entry into the facility. During national pandemics or other health crisis, applicants may be asked questions about their illness status and may be declined entry per customer requirements. Conduct periodic facility checks (interior and exterior) reporting any concerns to the Site Supervisor. Assist the Site Supervisor and/or government Immigration Service Officer in calling local law enforcement or first responders when necessary. Manage and complete administrative paperwork such as tracking processing time for applicants, reconciliation of biometrics captured, maintaining a visitor control log for non-applicants, and other administrative duties as needed. Highlights of responsibilities It is expected that providing applicants with the highest level of customer service is primary in all responsibilities. This position requires working with the public, maintaining a cheerful and inviting demeanor, and treating applicants with respect as customers of the USCIS ASC. Personnel must safeguard Personal Identifiable Information (PII) in paperwork, identifications, electronic biometric data and reports. Maintain quality biometrics processing and timely processing within program standards. Required Qualifications Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location. A High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be able to speak and write in English. Ability to stand upright on one’s feet for scheduled shift duration, excluding meals and breaks. Ability to hold and grasp applicant’s hands to obtain quality fingerprints. Ability to work in a high paced environment with the public. Ability to type and use basic computer skills. Successful completion of the biometrics training and become certified within sixty days. Desired Skills Ability to speak a foreign language. Employees will earn H&W dollars per eligible hour (including vacation and holiday up to 40 hours/week). H&W monies are used to offset the employer’s cost of benefits the employee elects into and/or utilizes.
