This is an opportunity to work with the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) in supporting the nation’s lawful immigration system. The position is an on‑call (casual) role located in Duluth, MN, and is regulated under the Department of Labor (DOL) Service Contract Act (SCA). Pay: $19.67 per hour (hourly rate set by SCA). Benefits: Amentum offers benefits subject to eligibility, including Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and a 401(k) plan. Sick leave accrues at 1 hour per 30 hours worked, up to 56 hours per year. On‑call employees may be eligible for pro‑rated holiday and paid time off benefits. On-Call expectations: On-Call employees are expected to be available all five weekdays (Monday–Friday) from 7:45am to 4:15pm for substitute coverage as needed. This is not a regular full-time or part-time position; it is a casual on‑call role. Hours are not guaranteed and assignments are made on an as-needed basis. Notify on-call personnel in advance when possible, but last‑minute notifications may occur. Responsibilities Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking legal immigration to the United States. Ensure all entrants to the ASC are approved applicants and visitors; assist with interior and exterior crowd control and enforce ASC rules and policies. Provide front-line customer service as representatives of Amentum and on behalf of the United States Government. Perform quality biometrics processing, including capturing electronic fingerprints, photographs, and signatures within established processing times. Screen applicants entering the facility to verify valid appointment notices and identification for entry. Utilize crowd control barriers to ensure safe and organized entry to the facility. Visually inspect applicants and belongings prior to entry; follow health guidelines during pandemics or health crises as required. Conduct periodic facility checks and report concerns to the Site Supervisor; assist in calling local law enforcement or first responders when necessary. Assist with administrative duties such as tracking processing times, reconciling biometrics records, maintaining a visitor control log, and other duties as needed. Required Qualifications Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization (U.S. citizenship required for facility credentials at this location). High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be able to speak and write in English. Ability to stand for scheduled shift durations (excluding meals and breaks). Ability to hold and obtain quality fingerprints from applicants. Ability to work in a high-paced environment with the public. Ability to type and use basic computer skills. Successful completion of biometrics training and certification within sixty days. Desired Skills Ability to speak a foreign language.
