Job Description ROLE SUMMARY: The Field Service Inspector is responsible for assisting the Field Service Supervisor and the Field Service Team by performing initial inspections from field service requests and make decisions related to our warranty and who is ultimately responsible for an issue, for example: CWS or another party such as owner, installer or customer. The Inspector's primary goal is to facilitate and effectively communicate needs in order to complete the field service work order on the first appointment and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring warranty and service work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES - Responsible for performing a variety of duties to inspect, troubleshoot and facilitate the repair of products.
- Maintain courteous and professional demeanor when working with customers, contractors, management, and fellow associates.
- Determine disposition of product and who is responsible for defect/issue and repair.
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Capable of managing a dynamic inspection schedule based on established timeframes, priorities matrix and geographical location.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and create/manage a work schedule.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer communications skills.
- Complete and submit inspection reports for processing. Clearly communicate material, labor, equipment and special needs to complete field service on first appointment.
- Assist Field Service Techs as needed to achieve and maintain a high rate of call closure.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of all products, install techniques and construction basics in order to perform diagnostic inspections and direct the repair of products in the field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrates ability to understand and utilize appropriate tools.
- Responsible for making adjustments and basic repairs in order to solve an issue and avoid additional costs of dispatching a Field Service Tech.
- Flexibility to handle multiple and changing priorities.
- Proficiency with computers to track service tickets, re-order product, and document any/all issues with appointment.
- Communicate findings to help establish root cause of issue for RCCA feedback to plant.
- Communicate and collaborate with customers and contractors to resolve issues and help provide end user satisfaction.
- Ability to work flexible hours, sometimes outside the "normal business hours" and travel as required.
- Must possess a current, valid Florida Driver's License with at least a class "E" for drivers of non-commercial vehicles.
- Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
- Ability to work in all environments (extreme heat/cold, rain).
- Must be able to read, write and communicate using the English language.
- Must be able to read and understand instructions and possess basic arithmetic skills.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Attend and observe commercial project water tests as needed. Report results to Engineering for review.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications TECHNICAL SKILLS OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED - Must have minimum three years of manufacturing and/or field service experience.
- Must be self-motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be customer focused.
- Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT - Bending, standing, lifting and moving objects in excess to 75 pounds. Work off ladders and/or scaffold and 40/60/80-foot boom lifts. Must be able to use a variety of power tools and other hand tools.
EDUCATION - High school diploma or equivalent.
