Role Description This is an on‑site contract role for an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter located in Chicago, IL. The ASL Interpreter will facilitate communication between Deaf and hearing individuals by providing accurate interpretation services in various professional and personal settings. The role also involves ensuring cultural sensitivity and maintaining professionalism to foster effective interactions and mutual understanding. Qualifications Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting and translation abilities Knowledge of Deaf culture and its application in communication and interpretation Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non‑verbal Flexibility and adaptability to work in diverse environments and scenarios Experience in educational, medical, or business interpreting is a plus Professional certification, such as from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), is highly desirable Seniority Level Entry level Employment Type Contract Job Function Marketing, Public Relations, and Writing/Editing Industries Translation and Localization #J-18808-Ljbffr acutrans
