Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned AEM Cloud Architect responsible for managing AEM web applications. This role involves leading strategic planning, fostering team collaborations, and hands-on oversight of the web development lifecycle from design through delivery. Our aim is to ensure these applications are aligned with business objectives and leverage advanced technology standards.

Conceive, design, engineer, and implement data and software solutions that solve significant scientific or business problems. Generate new proposals and lead those efforts. Investigate, identify, and implement state-of-the-art technology platforms that drive productivity and efficiency gains in own function and throughout multiple business areas. Act as a lead in his/her area of expertise and critically evaluate relevant technological advances and integrate this knowledge into new business technology solutions. Technology Architects will be aligned to a specific area: Information, Solution, System, AEM Web development, User Experience (UX) or Data.

Responsibilities

• Effectively function as a principal architect, generating new technological proposals and leading those efforts. Anticipate and critically evaluate technological advances or competitive threats and respond with appropriate new strategies.
• Architect scalable, secure, and high performing AEM and/or Non-AEM web solutions tailored to business needs.
• Define project scope, approach, technical specification, and integration patterns.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards & best practices.
• Oversee deployment processes & environment setups, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate AEM web applications with third party platforms including but not limited to Google Analytics, data solutions, content solutions etc.
• Demonstrate creative 'out of the box' thinking to solve difficult problems and champion new technologies to achieve project goals.
• Independently responsible for technology within his/her area of expertise on multiple projects. Demonstrate mastery across a wide range of data and software engineering, including data warehousing, data integration, data visualization and analysis, software development, statistics, and machine learning.
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical business, and utilize this knowledge in the rapid advancement of agile, impactful, and cost-effective solutions
• Recognized and sought out as an expert in his/her discipline within the company and possibly externally.
• Shapes relationships with affiliates, subsidiaries, vendors, and industry peers in accordance with AbbVie Values, Vendor Management Office, and Purchasing to further the mission, vision and goals of the organization.
• May mentor/supervise a team of one or more and guide and evaluate the performance of those individuals; is accountable for the effective performance of the team/individuals.
• Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience; Master's Degree with 7 years of experience; PhD with 3 years of experience in application program development.
• Requires in?depth knowledge of the systems development life cycle, client area's functions and systems, and systems application program development technological alternatives.
• Proven experience in web application management, web CMS and/or Enterprise Content Management, specifically with the AEM platform.
• Deep understanding of AEM as a Cloud service. Including Sites, Assets, Workflows, and Headless capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of AEM Architecture patterns.
• Experience with Java, JSP, Apache Sling & RESTful APIs.
• Proficient in front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JS, Frameworks like React/Angular is a plus).
• Strong understanding of systems development lifecycle and compliance processes.
• Solution Architecture & evolving integration patterns.

Beneficial:

• Work experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
• Familiarity with non-AEM web content management platforms, like Drupal, Wordpress.
• Familiarity with DevOps processes & tools (Git, Maven)
• Recent hands on experience with AEM

Additional Information

• The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
