State Farm Agent is hiring for an Insurance Account Representative.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Taking payments and assisting customers with billing issues.
2. Helping customers file claims and follow-up on the claims experience.
3. Providing quotes for auto and home insurance policies.
4. Pivoting to other lines of business when appropriate and in the best interest of the customer (life, disability, etc.)
5. Provide timely communication with customers when assisting them with their policies.
6. Explaining insurance coverages and available discounts to customers.
7. You must be comfortable with normal computer software applications and have the ability to learn new proprietary State Farm computer software applications.
8. Document, document, document all transactions with customers and prospects in computer software systems.
9. Learn and apply the necessary underwriting rules associated with each of the product lines we offer.
10. The ability to multi-task is needed to perform this job well.
11. De-escalating customer encounters relating to their coverage and billing issues.

Requirements for the position:

• An existing property and casualty license is preferred. However, licensing and training can be provided for the right candidate . You will also be required to obtain your life/health insurance license if you don't already have them.
• A lot of the position is "on the job training". While extensive training and support will be provided, you must be willing to learn by doing. 
• You have to be able to collaborate and thrive in a small team environment.
• Dependability is a character trait that is highly valued in the agency. You will find yourself valued and respected as a member of our team if you are able to be counted on for a solid attendance record.
• Spanish speaking is preferred, but not required.
• An outgoing and pleasant personality 
• While an Associates or Bachelor degree is preferred, prior job and life experiences are highly valued and can be used instead of degree.
• Pass a background check to be authorized to work with sensitive customer information.

This position is mostly service with a sales component. As such, it provides a base salary depending on your license status and level of experience...plus the opportunity to earn both an annual and monthly bonus .

Paid sick time and paid vacation time is also provided after a standard probation period.
