STRATEGY 4 - COMMUNITY INVESTMENT
In partnership with its sister organization, the Jacobs Family Foundation, JCNI values taking informed risk - trying new approaches and new vehicles for leveraging assets for community change.
There are many ways we use our own assets and borrowing ability to help build assets within the neighborhoods where we partner. The JCNI financial portfolio is invested in the work of Market Creek Plaza and the people of the Diamond Neighborhoods.
We look for ways to tie our investments to our partnership strategies, ensuring that our assets are working in tandem with the community, using a variety of financial strategies, beyond grants and technical assistance. They include new structures for such program-related investments as equity investments and participating funds, as well as non-profit loans and loan guarantees, guarantees for business development, working lines of credit, and planning grants.
Working and partnering to raise and invest capital, JCNI assists businesses, non-profit agencies, and foundations in finding innovative ways to create neighborhood wealth. Here are some of the ways we go about this work.
