Chollas View is named for the abundance of cholla cactus that once covered the 424-acre community. Home to 4,880 residents, the community is located in the north-central portion of southeastern San Diego. It is bounded on the north by State Highway 94, on the south by Market Street, on the east by Euclid Avenue, and on the west by Interstate 805.
“My husband asked me if when he retired from the post office I would want to move. I said ‘no I like where I live.’ We’ve lived in this house for about 58 years now. It was a nice place to raise kids, with good neighbors and a strong sense of community. We take care of each other. We’ve been all over San Diego, but we always come back to our home in Chollas.”
